As a child, I spent many hours sitting in the oak tree in the backyard. To this day, I remember that oak as being one of my dear friends – providing me with a place of safety and solitude. What comes to mind is a feeling of being accepted and valued regardless of whatever failings my worldly self had. I was young and did not have the words or concepts that I can now name. I realize now that the bonding of being still in nature had a major impact on my life. It was and continues to be where I retreat to when I am feeling wounded or down or disappointed or misunderstood.
I believe that nature holds a similar place of healing and connection for many others. Even if one is not an outdoor type, just looking at green grass and blue sky, sitting by the ocean, even seeing a visual of a place in nature can transport one to a special place. It is a place where one is in awe of the beauty, embraced by the powerful nurturing energy of the natural environment.
Years later – many years – my knowledge has expanded to include working with energy, chakras, crystals, color and musical connections, reiki, tai chi, qigong. Opening up in wonder and awe of the universe and the gifts that are available, I journey into my own depths, the memories, blocks, hopes, dreams. It becomes so very clear that all is connected – a complex, amazing dance of continual interplay and balance.
The color for the heart chakra is green. The color for the throat chakra is sky blue. spring is upon us and the green is sprouting from the rest and renewal of winter. Today, as I write, the sun is shining and the sky is beautiful blue with hardly a cloud.
My wish for you is to open your heart to a warmth like the sun and speak your truth – finding your voice to be your highest, most joyful self.
blessings,
jani
